Qigong, Creativity and the Three Treasures

Qigong returns to the scouts field campsite with a short mid-week camp with time for connection to the Earth and love and respect for all life. A camp for self-development, enjoyment and a deep experience of Nature

Dates: Tuesday August 31st – Friday September 3rd 2021

Nicola, Sarah, and Helen are very excited to have booked exclusive use of a lovely campsite. We have developed a programme based on our connection to nature, our qigong practice and our love of creative expression.

The Programme

Each day we will explore one of the three treasures – Jing, Qi and Shen. We will use Qigong forms, meditation and creativity. We invite you to play with the energy as it presents in nature.

The daily timetable will look something like this. It will depend on the weather and the mood of the group. We hope it will evolve.

Timings are approximate:

7.45 – 8.45 morning Qigong

10.30 – 1.00 Qigong and Meditation

Lunch break.

  • 30 Qigong and Creative play –

We will explore the woods, streams, rocks and hilltops using different creative activities to engage fully with each one of the three treasures. You can join a structured creative activity or develop something of your own. Materials relating to each day will always be available for play or your own projects.

Evening meal.

The evening – Will be an informal space for sharing what has arisen in the day by the fire. A poem, a picture, a song or a dream! A fire or a cosy, early night.

The Qigong
Our practice comes from a variety of traditions and requires no previous experience of any sort, only a willingness to explore your own energy.

Everyone is welcome, no experience of Qigong or Creativity is needed. We hope you will bring an intention to connect to yourself and our community and the Earth with love and respect. A tent is essential and some camping experience will be useful.

The Site
The camp is situated in the ancient woodland around May Hill in the Forest of Dean. It is a 20 minute drive from Gloucester which has good road and rail links.

We have exclusive use of a large barn with a stove and a wood burner for inclement weather, compost toilets, showers and a lovely camping field. There is running water, a firepit with benches and plenty of wood, but no electricity.

The Food
We are not providing meals and suggest people cook in small circles of friends or family groups. Bring exactly what nourishes you.  We encourage you to cook with those camped near you, if you want to , and to join together to share mealtimes.  We will provide tea and snacks.

The cost:
is £120 for the three nights camping, all the workshops and access to the art materials. (Though you may want to bring a journal, etc.)

This is a small camp and there are 25 places available

There will be a week long camp on the Five Elements in June 2022 with 36 places.

A deposit of £30 will secure your place on either camp. A few low cost places are available – do ask if you feel drawn to the camp but the cost is an issue.
