May Hill Woodlands
May Hill woodlands is a nature-based enterprise based within the ancient woodlands of May Hill, Gloucestershire, situated between the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and Severn vale. We offer a variety of luxury, family and wild camping experiences, as well as training, short courses and wellbeing programs within the woodlands. These activities all contribute to their restoration as a haven for wildlife and people.
Finding balance with nature
May Hill woodlands offers a mix of recreation and camping, within a semi-ancient woodland located on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. We aim to balance timber production with human wellbeing and outdoor activities, wildlife habitat & biodiversity. As such we are broadening the management focus of the historic, forestry estate to restore coppice woodlands, optimise carbon sequestration, transition to continuous cover forestry, promote diverse plantings and protect veteran trees for habitat.
