Finding balance with nature
May Hill woodlands offers a mix of recreation and camping, within a semi-ancient woodland located on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. We aim to balance timber production with human wellbeing and outdoor activities, wildlife habitat & biodiversity. As such we are broadening the management focus of the historic, forestry estate to restore coppice woodlands, optimise carbon sequestration, transition to continuous cover forestry, promote diverse plantings and protect veteran trees for habitat.
